Manual research with the original standards PDFs remains the ground truth — Leide is designed to accelerate that process, not replace it for high-stakes decisions.

Is there a free trial?
Yes — all plans include a 30-query free trial with full feature access. No credit card required. When you hit the trial limit, you'll see an upgrade prompt.
Which standards are in the knowledge base?
Currently: DNV-ST-0378 (offshore containers), DNV-OS-C101 (structural), DNV-RP-C205 (environmental loads), selected NORSOK standards (N-004, M-650), EN 10204 (material certs), EN 13445 (pressure vessels), ISO 2768 (tolerances), ISO 2553 (weld symbols), and ISO 128 (drawing practice). We add new standards regularly — request specific standards via the feedback widget in the portal.
How does the drawing checker work?
Upload a PDF drawing and select the governing standard (e.g. DNV-ST-0378). Leide extracts key data — material grades, weld specifications, tolerances, certificate callouts — and cross-references each item against the knowledge base. You get a structured findings report with severity ratings (CRITICAL / MAJOR / MINOR / INFO) and clause references for each finding.
Can I use Leide for high-stakes design decisions?
Leide accelerates standards research and draws your attention to potential non-conformances — but it is not a substitute for a qualified engineer's review, an approved calculation note, or a classification society survey. Always verify Leide's output against the current published version of the applicable standard, and have safety-critical decisions reviewed by a competent person. Leide is designed to save the hours you'd spend searching, not to replace the judgement you apply after.
How does Leide compare to DNV RuleAgent?
DNV RuleAgent is an excellent tool for DNV standard queries within the DNV ecosystem. Leide is designed for engineers who also work with NORSOK, EN, and ISO standards — and who need drawing review and tooling (padeye calculator, asset register) in one place. If you work entirely within the DNV world and already have a DNV account, RuleAgent may cover your needs. If your projects involve multiple standards bodies — common on NCS fixed installations or cross-market projects — Leide fills the gap.
Can I request specific standards to be added?
Yes. Use the feedback widget in the portal to request specific standard documents. We prioritise additions by user demand. If you have a PDF of a standard you need — and have the licence rights to ingest it — contact us for the Enterprise plan, which supports custom knowledge base uploads.
What happens to the drawings I upload?
Drawings are processed in memory for the compliance check and are not permanently stored. The extracted metadata (findings, summary) is saved to your account so you can review your history, but the raw drawing file is not retained after processing. Contact us if you have specific data residency requirements.
